With over 50 years’ practice under my belt, I’ve devoted my life to the martial arts, earning numerous titles and ranks in Karate (Shito Ryu), Ju-Jutsu (Hontai Yoshin Ryu) and Ryukyu Kobudo.
- 1972 : Start of Karate at the Yamaharashi dojo (Wado Ryu)
- 1979 : Meeting with Guy Buyens, discovery of Shito Ryu and later Hontai Yoshin Ryu thanks to this decisive encounter.
- 1981 : 1st Dan VKA (Shotokan)
- 1984 : Becomes a Karate teacher at Budo Club berchem
- 1988 : Becomes president of Budo Club Berchem
- 1990 : First trip to Japan, training for a month in Soke Kenei Mabuni’s dojo (Shito Ryu) Discovery of the Ju Jutsu school (Hontai Yoshin Ryu).
- 1996 : Soke Kenei Mabuni visits Brussels and becomes Uchi Deichi of the Shito Ryu school.
- 1999 : Sensei Fumio Demura visits Brussels
- 2001 : First trip to Okinawa and pupil of Sensei Masahiro Nakamoto 10th Dan (Ryukyu kobudo)
- 2010 : The Karate section of the Berchem Ste Agathe dojo is renamed ‘BUNBUKAN Brussels’ with the agreement of Sensei Masahiro Nakamoto (10th Dan),
- 2016 : Ryukyu Kobudo teacher’s licence obtained.
- 2024 : Receives an award from Sensei Shimabukuru (10th Dan) for his participation in the development of Rykyu Kobudo throughout the world at the World Rykyu Kobudo Convention in Naha (Okinawa).

1992 : 3rd place World Ju Justu Championship (Hontai Yoshin ryu) in Nishinomya (Japan)
1996 : 2nd place world ju Jutsu championship (Hontai Yoshin ryu) in Aquiterme (Italy)
2005 & 2008 : Hontai Yoshin Ryu demonstration in Istsukushima (Japan)
2007 : Participation in the 30th Kobudo Enbu Taikai demonstration – Nippon Budokan – Nihon Kobudo Kyokai – Kumamoto (JP)
2009 : Participation in the 32nd Kobudo Enbu Taikai demonstration – Nippon Budokan – Nihon Kobudo Kyokai – Tokyo (JP)
2024 : Judge at the Ryukyu Kobudo Traditional World Championships in Naha (Okinawa)
